The 2025 CERC Appreciation Award is presented to Underground Connections LLC, a company that has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and been a valued member of the CERC Community since 2024. This award recognizes their exemplary and proactive efforts in environmental best practices, ensuring not only the safety and well-being of their dedicated employees but also the long-term health and vitality of the communities they serve.
In 2025, Underground Connections completed a transformative sewer collection system in Chincoteague, Virginia. This environmentally sensitive project replaced aging infrastructure and significantly reduced effluent discharge into the island’s waterways.
Underground Connections utilized horizontal drilling to install new low-pressure force mains, resulting in minimal surface disruption. This approach preserved the town’s coastal character and accelerated project timelines, avoiding peak tourism seasons. The system now connects local businesses to a centralized treatment facility, with future upgrades already planned.
